Sustainable Services

Job Readiness & Financial Education

At the Christian Outreach Center, we are committed to helping individuals move from surviving to thriving. Our Job Readiness and Financial Education program is designed to equip participants with the tools, confidence, and support needed to secure employment, manage finances, and build a stable future.

This seven-week program, that’s open to the public, meets twice a week in North Baton Rouge at the Charles R. Kelly Community Center from 5:30-7:30 with dinner provided. We provided other, condensed versions of this class that are just for our partners, such as the East Baton Rouge Parish Housing Authority and East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

By the end of the course, participants leave not only with knowledge, but with tangible resources they can immediately use.

Financial Support & Incentives

We believe in supporting progress in meaningful ways. Participants of the program are eligible to receive $600 in utility assistance upon completion of the course, as well as case management up to three months after completing the course. This support helps ease financial pressure while participants take their next steps toward stability with personalized assistance.

In addition, participants can enroll in GAP (Grocery Assistance Program), which provides six months of home-delivered supplemental groceries—helping families stretch their budgets and maintain food security.

Real Opportunities, Real Connections

We regularly invite outside speakers to share valuable insights and connect participants with opportunities for employment, career advancement, and further training. These sessions expose participants to pathways they may not have previously considered and help build networks that can lead to lasting change.

Give the Gift of a Fresh Start

Your support helps participants gain the skills, confidence, and resources needed to move forward.
A Pathway Forward
